Drodling - for hukommelse - og kreativitet?

Bilde

"Daisy Lace Scarf" fra "Morris and Sons" i "Grignasco Kid Seta"

Bilde

Silver pendant - course with Nicole Lance at Fremantle Arts Centre

Bilde
I have had a great day attending a jewellery class at the Fremantle Arts Centre . The class was called Chains, links and pendants in a day with Nicole Lance , and comes highly recommended! The finished pendant - after polishing. It`s "organic". I bought a 5x5cm square sheet of 0.8mm thick sterling silver at Australian Jewellers Suppliers in Perth, Hay st, and from this I made a pendant - not so sure if it this is "branches and leaves" or "mutant salamander". After tracing, sawing, filing, sanding and polishing - I have a shiny pendant to wear to work. Work scene: My silver sheet to right, some of the cut-out pieces and the saw that I used. The finished cut-out piece (bottom right) before filing++. I used a coin to draw the outer part of the pendant. Coffee was needed (top left) and sand paper (bottom left). The cut-out pendant - before filing. Rough edges I'm very happy with the result and hope to attend another class at the Fremant...

Moda charms: 4+1=1?

Bilde
Some time ago (actually a few years ago..) I bought a 5' charm pack from Moda at Quiltegården . I've tried to puzzle the squares together to make a table cloth, but did not quite arrive at a solution that I liked. Last week I tried to instead make the squares into 4 separate placemats - and a bridging piece. I'm not sure why my charm pack contained 49 squares ( this reference talks about charm packs), did I loose one and it should have been 50? Nevertheless, I puzzled 3*4=12 of the squares into 4 separate placemats. Full size (after adding the binding) for each placemat is 4.5'*4+0.5=18.5' times 4.5'*3+0.5=14' (47 cm times 35.5 cm). I've meandered over the placemats. I found a nice matching Moda fabric with small dots for the binding, and on the back I put two different brown fabrics - one with hearts and one with candy circles. If I place the placemats with the bridging piece in the middle it can serve as a tablecloth. Ready for breakfast!

Beautiful Tassie

Bilde
Just back from a weekend trip to Tasmania; Port Arthur, Eaglehawkneck, Tasmanian devil park, Hobart, Salamanca market, Battery Point, Mount Wellington, Mount Field and Richmond. So much beauty! You can see pictures from my trip at my PBase page And, I stopped by the lovely quilting and needlework shop in Hobart on Liverpool street; the Needlewoman. The owner was very helpful -- and had made so many lovely quilts, and she showed my beautiful work from Australian quilt designers. And, cross stitch patterns with colonial homes from Arthur circus at Battery point in Hobart. I bought a pattern with Arthur circus no. 47, so I had to go to Battery point to take a photograph of the house I'll do in cross stitch! Yes,it is the the cottage with the blue fence I have addede a picture of in the beginning of this blog. This beautiful pleated log cabin quilt was displayed in the shop - made from precut candy-roll fabric -- great idea!
